One path. All of us.

A group of volunteers in Ankawa, built around the community we come from — where friendships are made, and kept. Urkha means path, and everything on this page is something we have already done.

How it goes

  1. A young person alone at a bus stop at night, face lit by their phone, a lit path winding up a dark hill far behind them.

    You hear about it

    A story on Instagram, or a friend who says come. That is how nearly everyone found us.

  2. Someone walking up the path and through a glowing petal archway at dusk, people inside already turning to greet them.

    You turn up

    One evening you weren’t sure about. No form, no fee, and nobody checking a list at the door.

  3. Five young people close together mid-conversation and laughing, cups in hand, under strings of warm lights.

    You come back

    The faces turn into names. You start hearing about the next one before it is posted.

    One day you are the one setting the chairs out. Everything here was made by someone who just turned up once.

The four things we run

Four kinds of work, and they all count the same

A party and a leadership course belong to the same initiative. Nobody here has ever had to pick one.

Gatherings

A graduation party at Galaxy Pool with six acts on the bill. A Bonfire Cinema Night at the Marina. A youth party. And the meetups in between, run over and over.

Skills

Two weeks on principles of management and leadership, taught properly, finished by nine of our own team with certificates in their hands.

Soul Sip

Yoga days and slow mornings — for the soul, the mind and the body, and the unity that brings us together. Nothing to achieve, nothing to book.

Because we care

Two hundred cloth bags handed out on Earth Day. Food baskets carried to doors through Eid. Reduce, reuse, recycle — and hands when the town needs them.
